Unpopular opinion: those videos with robots doing backflips are pathetic. Boston Dynamics - like every few months in the last 15 years - launched another video of their robot doing a backflip. Demonstrating the progress they’ve accomplished in the last 7 years. Not to be a party pooper, but over the last seven years we watched the software world go from PhDs copy-pasting from Stack Overflow to product managers with zero knowledge in code vibe-coding full software products from scratch. Going from a bulky robot doing a backflip to a slightly less bulky robot doing a backflip is not the revolution the physical world is longing for. It’s not the progress humanity needs. We won’t be to cure cancer if you won’t be able to build better medical devices and we won’t be able to colonize the moon without building better rockets. We live in a physical world and I have physical problems, but in 2026 physical innovation is *still* the bottleneck of human progress.
